DANCE CARIMBO OF BRAZIL

Carimbo is an African drum, made of a hollow trunk, which is about 1 meter tall and 30 centimeters wide and on one end covered with a deerskin. The same name is also used for a sensual Brazilian dance to the beat of this drum.

This dance is originally from the Brazilian region of Pará, around the marajo island and the capital city of Belem. In this dance at a certain moment, the woman throws her handkerchief on the floor and her male partner must try to pick it up by using only his mouth.
