When to go

You can visit Brazil any time of the year and has never been very expensive. The only thing you need to keep in mind deciding when to go to Brazil are the reasons for you to visit the country. Are you going there to visit one of the large cities, like Rio de Janeiro, or are you more into a beach holiday or are you going to take a tour through the amazing Amazon Rainforest.

If you would like to travel around Brazil, it is good to know that it's better to not travel during the months of December to February, as this is when the Brazilian school system is on its long summer vacation. Many Brazilians themselves are traveling during this time, which results in more expensive accommodation and transport and also it's more difficult to arrange.

If you would like to go to brazil during the Carnival season, you need to go in late February, early March, depending on when Easter is that year, as Carnival takes place during the 5 days up to Ash Wednesday (the last day of Carnival is actually on Shrove Tuesday).

New Year in Rio de JaneiroTravel in and around Brazil can also be difficult during:

If you are planning a beach holiday to Brazil, you need to keep in mind that Brazil's beaches are on the Atlantic coast and so you should try to avoid traveling during the months of June to August, when the sea can be quite rough and cold.
