The cultural heritage of a kaleidoscope of immigrants has made of Sao Paulo a city of unequaled history. From a first contact in 1554 when the indians worked together with the Portuguese conquerors to build a school and small village, to the contribution of European architects, engineers, Italian workers (who it is said to be the "builders" of Sao Paulo and Japanese devoted to agri-business, Sao Paulo has given a warm welcome and given to all who have worked hard a reward for their efforts. There is much to see in this 13,5 million city.

The city spreads as the eye can see and our tour will be restricted to a few and selected areas: Higienpolis - a residential area with modern apartment buildings; Pacaembu soccer stadium; the University of Sao Paulo main departments like the Medicine school and its Hospital and further away, covering a wide area the Dean's Office and the many departments. Our next stop will be at hill in Morumbi where one can see the contrasting residential and business areas. Here is the State Government Palace - Palacio dos Bandeirantes for an outside visit and the Sao Paulo soccer stadium closing with a visit of Jardim Europa - a residential area.
The highlight of the tour is the Ibirapuera Park with beautiful gardens and lakes and the statue of the Bandeirantes (explorers) by Victor Brecheret. The park build in 1954 for the 4th centenary of the city houses the Chamber of Deputies, a Mausoleum for the 1932 heroes (revolution), Modern Art Museum - the house of the biannual Art Exposition, the Oca - a semi circular building with different expositions year round, the Planetarium and an Orchards that supplies the needs of the city of trees and decorative plants.
