The Pantanal of Mato Grosso represents an area of more than 100.000 square-kilometers of nearly untouched wilderness and natural life, which, during the rainy season (Nov. until April) is to a great part
covered by water. Within this vast green sea there remain only few "islands" where you find the isolated Fazendas and Pousadas. On the Fazendas people are breeding cattle. The word Pousada literally
translated means "resting place".

The Pousada do Rio Mutum has been constructed according to international standards taking into account in particular the demands of modern eco-tourism and theinterests of sport-fishing. It is situated between the lakes Sia Mariana and Chacorore within one of the most beautiful regions of the Pantanal of Mato Grosso. Pousada do Mutum offers you: 16 fully acclimatized apartments with private veranda and bath with hot and cold water; Full pension with an excellent choice of regional dishes; A swimming pool with bar; A souvenir shop which also offers toiletarticles and various other things; A runway for smaller airplanes; International telephone connections;Excursions on horse back or with boats to observe the exuberant wildlife of the Pantanal; Sports facilities (volleyball etc); Transport with acclimatized cars from and to Cuiaba Airport.

Day 1 Cuiaba/Pantanal - Mutum Lodge
Reception and assistance upon your arrival at Cuiaba Airport. Transfer to the Pousada Rio Mutum, passing through the small village of Mimoso, where Candido Rondon was born. Arrival at the Pousada at dinner time (reception with welcome drink). After dinner the facilities of the Pousada as well as the
program for the next days will be presented.

Day 2 Pantanal - Mutum Lodge
After breakfast: ecological hiking tour through the wilderness of the Pantanal, visiting some settlements of the native "caboclos" with their palm thatched huts. People's hospitality will provide you with a lot of impressions of their lives together with a very stimulating drink of genuine "guarana". Lunch at the lodge and after lunch: Horse trekking through typical Pantanal landscapes. reception at a Fazenda which is situated at the lake Sia Mariana, awaiting sunset there. People will return from there by boat. On the way back there is an opportunity of Piranha fishing.

Day 3 Pantanal - Mutum Lodge
After breakfast, there is a boat ride until a "corixo", where a walking trail begins which goes to the
Chacororé bay that has more than 15km of extension. Lunch is at the lodge and in the afternoon a ride by car or boat will take you to the Mutum River for a photographic safari of na almost unexplored area of the river, with boat ride to observe all the Pantanal life.

4 Day Pantanal - Mutum Lodge / Cuiaba
After breakfast return to Cuiaba Airport and departure.

USEFUL NOTES :
Travel to Amazon and Pantanal, it is recommended that people bring with them common drugs as well as antihistamines, insect repellents, sun protectors, sun glasses, camera, batteries, long trousers, long sleeves T shirts, swimming suits, cotton socks, hat, tennis shoes/ boots, sandals, light clothes and jogging suits or fleeces. To Pantanal we also recommend binoculars.
The Brazilian National Agency for Sanitary Vigilance recommends Yellow fever vaccination for people who travel in areas endemic to Brazil: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Distrito Federal (Brasilia), Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Rondínia, Roraima and Tocantins.
*There is no National or Reserva tax to pay in Amazon or Pantanal.
*For vegetarian food the additional cost, it will depend of the Lodge so please ask the requirement.
*Regular Transfer leaves Cuiabá airport at 12h50pm and 17h50pm. So flight should arrive at least 1 hour before pick up time. Rio Mutum to Cuiabá airport: 07h00 and 11am.
