PANTANAL ECOSYSTEM TRAVEL 5 DAYS - 4 NIGHTS

The Pantanal covers an area of 130,000 km2 (51,000 sq. miles). It is a perfect ecological niche for observing and photographing a large number of birds, reptiles and other animals. The Pantanal's main access road, the Transpantaneira, crosses more than 100 wooden bridges and ends 147 km (92 miles) from Poconé in Porto Jofre,penetrating deep into the marshland ecosystem.
ARARAS PANTANAL ECO LODGE - Located amidst all this is the ARARAS ECO Built in harmony with the environment, without renouncing
comfort, the lodge is reachable all year-round by car via the Transpantaneira Park Road, 132 km (82 mi) south of Cuiabá (Mato Grosso State Capital) On a 2h30 safari-transfer, in air-conditioned vehicle. From this lodge,with its enviably preserved surroundings, it is possible to do firstclass bird-watching, trekking in pristine forest, canoeing, horseback riding, truck photo-safaris, night tours, two exciting tree top look outs with 12 and 25m high and much more, all under the assistance of expert bilingual naturalist guides.
Day 1 Arrival at Cuiabá/Várzea Grande airport or pick up at hotel and transfer to Pantanal lowlands. While crossing the area, it is possible to spot and
appreciate the local flora & fauna. Late afternoon hike through surrounding area to a 25 m observation tower and a spectacular view of sunset.After dinner, night tour to observe nocturnal environment. Overnight at Araras Eco Lodge.
Day 2 Full day dedicated to observing the Pantanal's flora & fauna at the Araras Eco Lodge private reserve. After breakfast, the guide will lead you on a 2 to 3 hour horseback ride through the pastures, woods and wetlands. Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, the guide will lead you on a hike in
a different area of the private reserve, allowing you to observe and learn more of the local environment. Overnight at Araras Eco Lodge.
Day 3 After breakfast travel down private dirt roads, to Sentinela Camp on the edge of the Rio Clarinho. Canoe tour to spot aquatic wildlife, birds and flora; possibility of piranha fishing. Brazilian churrasco style picnic lunch along the banks of the river. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Early morning hike for sunrise. Bkft. After breakfast hike or bike ride to visit to the neighbour farm. A cattle ranch with over 12.000 hectares,traditionaly rasing cattle over the last three generation in a balanced and sustainable manner. Lunch at the lodge. Guided walk through the Ronco do Bugiu private reserve with a visit to the main house and a " guaraná " drink following local tradition. Dinner and overnight at the Araras Eco Lodge.
Day 5 Ater breakfast, photo-safari along the Transpantaneira Park Road and return to Cuiabá. Drop off at airport or city hotel.

Scheduled activities are always subject to change due to water levels and weather conditions.
USEFUL NOTES:
Travel to Amazon and Pantanal, it is recommended that people bring with them common drugs as well as antihistamines, insect repellents, sun protectors, sun glasses, camera, batteries, long trousers, long sleeves T shirts, swimming suits, cotton socks, hat, tennis shoes/ boots, sandals, light clothes and jogging suits or fleeces. To Pantanal we also recommend binoculars.
The Brazilian National Agency for Sanitary Vigilance recommends Yellow fever vaccination for people who travel in areas endemic to Brazil: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Distrito Federal (Brasilia), Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Rondínia, Roraima and Tocantins.
*There is no National or Reserva tax to pay in Amazon or Pantanal.
*For vegetarian food the additional cost, it will depend of the Lodge so please ask the requirement.
*Regular Transfer leaves Cuiabá airport at 13h20pm and 17h00pm to the lodge So flight should arrive at least 1 hour before pick up time.from Araras (Pantanal) to Cuiaba (airport): Daily departures: 7:30am or 12:00pm.
